Training Maximum Utilisation of Control Systems

ELECTRONIC MOTOR CONTROLLERS

THE DRIVING FORCE OF INDUSTRY

The electronic drive has rapidly become the standard method of variable speed motor control throughout industry and beyond.

They are at the very heart of machines and processes in every conceivable industrial application, varying in power from fractions of a kilowatt to many thousands.

Whatever your application, SDS Limited can provide the training you require to ensure maximum utilisation of vital control elements

WHERE AND WHEN ARE THE COURSES HELD?

SDS Limited can provide a fully comprehensive custom focused training courses at our premises in Avonmouth or alternatively where appropriate, courses can be arranged at the user site or other venue to suit.

ON SITE SPECIFIC

SDS Limited can offer a variety of courses held at the customer's own site.
These can be customised to suit the type of drives at the site and are particularly appropriate where the client requires a large number of engineers to be trained.

WHO WILL BENEFIT?

At SDS Limited we insure that the courses are designed to meet the requirements of engineers of all disciplines and experience from any industry.
The majority of the courses assume no previous drives knowledge; those courses requiring some drives experience are indicated in the course description notes.
All training is appropriate to original equipment manufacturers, end users, consultants and distributors.

WHAT DO THE COURSES INCLUDE?

The majority of courses start with the basic principles of the product or application and build up to cover the details of the equipment, installation and commissioning.
Emphasis is placed on practical hands-on sessions and much use is made of working equipment.

Courses

A comprehensive range of courses is available across the full range of Manufactures, from DC to AC to Servo.

Courses are 1 day in duration, starting with simple one day 'get the machine back up and running' courses for maintenance technicians, through to the full  five day courses for the design engineer.

All the courses are structured to pull together all the threads of the various parts of the drive and always assume no prior drives knowledge, only a basic understanding of electricity.

AC INVERTER BASICS - 1 Day

Inverters are used across a wider range of industries than any other type of drive.
Aimed at the maintenance engineer, this course is designed to meet the broad spectrum of requirements by providing a solid grounding in Inverter principles, applications and techniques.

AC DIGITAL DRIVES - Engineer - 2 Day

A course covering AC Digital products including basic theory of AC motors developing into the principles of vector control.
All the software aspects of the drives are discussed with practical applications configured culminating in setting up the drives using the latest PC based software.

DC DIGITAL DRIVES - Basic Level - 1 Day

A course aimed at the maintenance engineer who needs to get the machine up and running rapidly on breakdown.
The course gives an understanding of general motor principles and control plus how to set up the drive.

DC DIGITAL DRIVES - Engineer - 2 Day

A course which will allow the designer to get the most out of the highly versatile Digital DC drives using the entire currently available PC based software.

LINK CONTROL SYSTEM - 2 Day

This course is aimed at users of LINK, SSD Drives advanced fibre optic based drive control system.

SERVO DRIVE AND BIAS - 1 Day

A course aimed at setting up the drive control loops and using menu driven software package.
